Glossary of Terms for Cross-Reading Project
Administrator - Someone who has access to the site's back office files and resources to keep this area of the site working.
The current Administrators are David Lindsay and Jim Saville.

Contributor - Someone who records his/her readings for the site, but who may not necessarily write their own material.

Free Use - A poem or piece of writing written by a Talking Zebras member or a friend of the group which we have been given permission to use for this project.

Interpretation - A reading of a piece which may or may not involve some changes to the wording or emphasis, in line with the contributor's presentation style.

Performance - A more dramatic presentation of a piece which may or may not involve some changes to the wording or emphasis, in line with the contributor's presentation style.

Project Leader - Someone who makes decisions on behalf of the Talking Zebras for the purposes of this project.
The current Project Leaders are Jim Saville and David Lindsay.

Public Domain - A poem or piece of writing (usually over 70 years old) which is out of copyright and which can therefore be used freely on this site.

Reading - A common term for a spoken word recording remaining largely loyal to the original text - see also "Interpretation" and "Performance".

Visitor - Someone who has access to this area of the site, but who has yet to contribute any of their own work or recordings.
